Yesterday it was Onam. Its a festival celebrated by the Kerelaites....for ma its a day when all the girls wear white sarees with golden borders, guys are in mundu, its a slightly different version of what we call lungi in the north.
Had fun yesterday. wore a saree. such a pain it was! i dint have a kerela saree so i just wore a tissue saree... then ma whole gang went to have onam sadya, its mallu food, which consists of 18 different dishes, served on banana leaf. it was the very first time i had some typical mallu food. there was so much food that i had to waste a lot! :-(
but in all it was a good experience.
